Color: complimentary

I used a complimentary color scheme of blue and orange. The background of this collage was done by ripping strips of construction paper; I wanted to hand rip the coral-like stuff in the foreground too but I ended up saving my sanity by using a pair of scissors.

Collage using textures

Well I can't say I really like the result but the process was very interesting and gave me ideas for future collage type work. Since it is a little hard to discern what the objects actually are I have posted the original drawing below. If nothing else, it definately has texture!

Texture

These are some of my favorite texture experiments done by rubbing various mediums on paper over different surfaces, stamping, brushing, and scanning actual objects with texture.

This and the next were done by setting a layer of marbles in a tray and then laying paper over it and then dragging charcoal across it

Line

 This week I focused on drawing the lines of a silver pitcher. I started off with some timed gesture drawings with pencil to warm.

This is a contour line drawings using marker; the one that follows is the same but with carcoal.

This is the drawing I had the most fun with this week. I used a 2B pencil, cross-contouring, and a white eraser to help with the highlights.
